Underground 1200ft

This is underground at the west mine. It's pretty cool to watch. I used my phone and it's not the greatest footage but at least people can get an idea of what it's like under there. There are 10 levels of sediments deposit and this is level 5 or in other words the middle level. At the west we are mining levels 5th and 7th. At the east mine we are mining 5th and 10th levels.

This is the stacker that stockpiles the muck and feeds the outgoing muck belt to the hoist so that there is a continuous amount going to the surface to be processed. The west mine, where I work uses a saltwater brine mix and a flotation process to extract the potash.

This is the little piece of heaven where I did the data mining for major component failure.

3 Years!

Voila la Pluie!

Our anniversary is August 4th, so we decided to get out of town this weekend. We went to Cloudcroft, NM and had a blast together. It is such a beautiful area and so green and mossy. We have seen elk both times we have come to camp here.

On Saturday, we were about 45 minutes away from the tent on our 4wheeler and dirt bike when the "the heavens opened up and God looked down and said, I hate you Alfalfa." :) It started dumping on us, so we sat under a tree for a few minutes, but the rain just kept coming down faster so we decided to ride in the storm back to the tent. we were DRENCHED and covered in mud but it was quite the adventure and I was laughing pretty hard the whole time...and shivering.

Speaking of Random...

We went to the Lubbock, TX temple which is about 3 hours away from Carlsbad and it was awesome.

Shay wanted me to post pictures of our condo here, but I only have this sweet picture of my backyard for now. It's not much...

I need new books to read, any suggestions from anyone? I haven't found a really good book since I read the Poison Study series by Maria V. Snyder, and am itching for something new.

Brady is getting his final presentation all polished for his internship. We come home in about 3 weeks, and we are so relieved to report that we FINALLY found an apartment. It is in North Logan and should be great!

Also, we have a pretty exciting bit of news in the Praag family this week...Miss Jessica Shae Praag is going to become Mrs. Jessica Shae Meitchen! Jason proposed at Bear Lake on Saturday. I finally have a brother!

What be crack a lackin on the 4th

For the 4th of July weekend, we stayed in a cabin near Cloudcroft, NM. It was so good to be in the mountains again, and actually remember what cool weather feels like. We went 4wheeling and dirt biking all weekend. Poor Brady had to ride the 4wheeler with me because his bike is once again all jacked up. Go figure. We had fun together though, and even saw 2 elk and lots of beautiful scenery. It was hard to believe we were still in NM, because it was so green and rainy and mossy. We made killer peach cobbler in the dutch oven and played a totally redneck game of duct tape-a-pole-to-your-helmet-and-try-to-get-the-frisbee-on-it. Yeah, we are cool like that. We also played a million rounds of Settlers of Catan, which we now have Sadie and Tel hooked on too.

Waiting out the storm in downtown Cloudcroft.

Down Memory Lane...

Since I just started this blog in spring 2010, I wanted to add a few pics from last year, just for fun. So here is a little trip down memory lane...
New Years Eve Party!! Welcome 2010!!
Kiersten and Trevor

Brit and Brady

Kelli and Jodie

Party like its 1999!

Our Christmas Tree...I didn't intend for it to look patriotic...I may have to buy some new ornaments this next year :)

Shayla's 18th Birthday Cake...Jess and I made it for her, and are taking orders if anyone wants to order a super dorky super cool cake. Righteous Dude!!

Mike and Mel...Reliving 1985...oh the good old days, but wait, dad, where is your mullet?

I aint saying she's a GoLd DiGgEr...

Shay's Bday party at the arcade. Big money! Big money!

Fortune Cookie? (Shay's birthday lunch at Golden Tree in R-Town)

Trick or Treat?! Halloween Night 2009
We went to Kat and Eric's rockin party, and I even won best costume :) Yay. I deserved it though, because nobody else had cups and pens and lots of hairspray in their hair! jk
Don't mess--He liked having REAL nunchucks tucked in his pocket all night! (thanks for letting us borrow them Paul)

Brady's secret daily beauty ritual

We went for a ride on Ben and Amy's ranger on the opening day of the dear hunt...bad idea to be unarmed and not wearing orange...but we had a blast hanging out together all day and having a picnic and seeing all the leaves begin to change for fall.

Old Ephraim's Grave
Old Ephraim was a big old bear that lived in Logan canyon...that's all I can remember, and I am not about to try to read the inscription on his grave :)

Right after my college graduation, we went on a cruise that left from California with Kat and Eric. It was a blast. This pic is me and Kat in front of Ruby's Diner which is at the end of the pier at Huntington Beach. It is so cool because this is the same diner we both ate at during our senior trip, right after we graduated high school...It was totally fitting to go back after my college graduation :) Lots of good memories!

Kat and me showing off the new stuff we got while on the cruise (I got what I call my hobo shoes, and Kat got the anklet)

Brit and Brady on Brit's college graduation day, May 2, 2009 at the lunch party at Firehouse. That was a dang good day!
Well, thats all folks...stay tuned!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA SHAE!

It's the freakin weekend...

We went for another ride at Hackberry Lake and found a cool ravine that we could ride in. We both rode the 4 wheeler, which I named Hackey, after its new stomping ground. Brady wasn't thrilled about it, but his bike got a flat after 5 minutes of riding, because the thorns here are killer and one found his front tire. rockymountainatv.com, here we come.

Not much for scenery, and the bushes look nice and fluffy, but they have thorns that are worse than rose bushes.
We went to Brantley Lake on Saturday night with some friends for burgers and a beach fire. I beat Brady at croquet (only because he let me cheat 8 times), and the guys played football for a bit. I really wish we had a waverunner! The water was calling my name, but the shallow water was too gooey to even walk in, let alone swim around in.

Pretend my hair looks smooth and sleek. It was super windy when we first got there!

That's all folks!

The Good Old Days

I just found these pics of my BFFs Kat, Nat, and Nicole in an old email and couldn't resist posting them. We have been reminiscing over our old emails to each other, and they are pretty dorky...all the crushes, predictions on who would marry who and when and where...drama drama drama! We have stayed great friends and are expecting our first addition to the club, once Little Mabel gets here in August! With us as adopted aunts, she is bound to be a cool girl ;)

On a totally different subject, Brady is liking his internship so far. People keep asking, and the only quote I can get out of Brady about how it is going is, "it's good." So deep... The company he works for is taking great care of him and he has met some great people. We like being in a new place where we can explore, and we miss our friends and family all at the same time. Keep in touch everyone!
